The Double H High Adventure Base (see the pictures), located in Datil, New Mexico, is the newest adventure of the Boy Scouts of America. Double H will provide you and your crew with a rugged backpacking experience unlike any you have done before. The Double H High Adventure Base is located at the Torstenson Family Wildlife Center, formerly known as the Double H Ranch. The Double H is made possible through a partnership with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Boy Scouts of America. It is also operated by Philmont Scout Ranch and is a program of Philmont.

Your crew will arrive at the Base and be teamed with a Wilderness Guide; this Guide will spend the entire trek with you, providing training and program. Your adventure will be a strenuous one, which will require teamwork and preparation. With no established trail system, the Double H is a true rugged, southwestern experience.

On your seven day trek your crew will have a chance to hike through canyons, navigate cross country with a GPS, or watch prize bull elk. You will also experience great programs like Astronomy, Leave No Trace, Geocaching, Search and Rescue and Black Powder Shooting. On day four of your trek you will journey to the Martin Camp. Here you will resupply and enjoy a hearty Western Dinner.
